Baroque Chateau

The former large fort from the 14th century belonged to Charles IV.'s brother Jan Jindřich. Partially modified in the 16th century to Renaissance castle. Radically rebuilt into a Baroque chateau during 1705-12 by Domenik Martinelli's plan. Late Baroque touch ups in 1802-10. The former high chateau tower brought down. The chateau suffered a fire in 1911, it wasn't renovated until 1914. It was the summer residence of the President of the Czech Republic T.G.Masaryk. It is seldomly used for the Czech republic Government sessions.
