THE MAISEL SYNAGOGUE (Maiselova synagoga)

The Maisel Synagogue was constructed in 1590-92 by the Jewish Town's primate Mordechaj Maisel. The original building suffered some damage during a fire in 1689 and it was then renovated in the Baroque style. Changed backed into the Gothic style between 1893-1905. The formal Renaissance disposition has been preserved only in its three-body floor projection of the main church body with storeyed galleries for women.
