| Description (in short) | The Ledebour Garden is the westernmost part of the complex of Palace Gardens below Prague Castle. The garden was named after later owner Earl Adolf from Ledebour. He acquired the palace and the garden in 1852. The garden was made already in the 17th century by famous architects G. Santini and G. Alliprandi. It was rebuild by I.Palliardi to the current form in the late 18th century. There are Salla Terrena (1716) decorated with mural paintings of Roman mythology and fountain in the lowest part of the garden. The lower part is adapted to the summer concerts. The dominating feature of the whole garden is the broad steep staircase leading between the terraces in the upper part ending by the gloriette (1787).The Ledebur Garden was opened in 1995, along with the Small Palffy Garden. |
