Description (in short)It originated in the second half of the 16th century, when archers and goldsmiths from the castle settled here (former name Zlatnická St.). Poor people lived here during the 18th and 19th century. Several famous writers dwelled here in the 20th century (F. Kafka, J. Seifert). The Golden Lane is now occupied by souvenirs, bookshops and other vintage shops.
ExpositionsThe houses were renovated and painted with colorful facades in the middle of the 20th century. They are used for purposes today (shops, exhibitory spaces, etc). Defensive tribune is opened for public, with armoury and period costumes exhibitions.
Interesting detailLegend says that during the Rudolf II.'s times alchymists lived in these houses, attempting to turn metal into gold.
