TYNSKÝ CHRAM (KOSTEL P. MARIE PRED TYNEM)

Staroměstské nám.
Gothic Cathedral
There used to be a Romanic church, mentioned already in 1135, but an Early-Gothic three-body church was built here in the second half of the 13th century, which had to be, again, taken down to allow a new cathedral to be erected. The Týn Cathedral's construction began in the middle of the 14th century but it wasn't finished until the beginning of the 16th century. This monument suffered a fire in 1679 and its main body was then vaulted in the Baroque style.
